Birthing Class & Final Weeks

We had our birthing class at Rex Hospital...

Rex Health Care at 4414 Lake Boone Trail in Raleigh, NC and the website is http://www.rexhealth.com/Services_and_Wellness/Index_of_Services/Birth_Center/

It was a lot of fun and it was also very entertaining to see 12 other couples look as nervous as we were. We watched live births, learned to swaddle, bathe, and about the nursery and hospital systems, as well as practiced relaxation ,breathing, and pain management techniques. Even though it was a long 8 hours it was very nice to see so many people due at the same time as us as well as some very unprepared people which made me feel worlds ahead and a little more confident in our decisions and prep time.

It was a nice day for Adam and I and I was so proud my husband knew all the answers to the questions asked however he did say that one positive thing about me being pregnant is that we now share a love of chicken wings...that was a laugh to the class.

Couple things we learned that will help out family and friends
1. the number to call for information is 919-784-3100 and you just need to ask for labor and delivery to have them ring our room

2. cell phones are allowed so just call one of us and we will return messages and give updates routinely

3. We are also taking our little laptop and our camera to upload pictures and notes as we can since we might have hours and hours so this will give us something fun to do.

We are sooo excited and I now have weekly appointments roughly every Wednesday for check ups. We are officially 9 months today so anytime over the next 3-5 weeks could be the fun day! I am working up until the last possible moment in order to get as much time off as possible as I only sit at a desk all day and drink water and work on the computer and phone.

Love you all and soon everyone will see Baby H.D.H. Yes, we will know his name as well once we see him and tell you what the first H stands for.
